Best Day Trips from Faliraki by Scooter or Quad

A sheltered rocky cove named after the actor who fell in love with it while filming The Guns of Navarone. Crystal-clear water, great for snorkelling, and just a short hop from the office — perfect first stop of the day.

• · Go before 10:00 to grab shade and parking near the entrance.
• · Bring water shoes — the beach is pebbles and rocks, not sand.
• · Combine with nearby Ladiko Bay in the same morning.

One of the most photogenic beaches on Rhodes — a long strip of golden sand backed by a rocky headland. Hike up the 300 steps to Panagia Tsambika monastery for a 360° view of the east coast.

• · The road up to the monastery is steep — a 125cc scooter or a quad handles it easily.
• · Bring shoulder covering if you plan to enter the chapel.
• · Sunbeds and a cantina on the beach; no need to pack lunch.

A shaded pine-forest valley with cold spring water, peacocks, and a small stone tunnel you can walk through barefoot to the lake. A welcome break from the coast on a hot day.

• · Take the inland turn at Kolymbia and follow the signs.
• · The tunnel is dark and knee-deep in cold water — skip it if you're not comfortable in tight spaces.
• · The taverna at the entrance does an excellent Greek lunch.

The postcard village of Rhodes: whitewashed lanes, a Byzantine acropolis on a cliff, and St. Paul's Bay curling below. The ride along the east coast is half the reward — sea on your left the whole way.

• · Park at the main entrance; the village itself is pedestrian-only.
• · Wear proper shoes for the acropolis climb — the stones get slippery.
• · Head back by 18:00 to catch the afternoon coastal light.

The southern tip of Rhodes where two seas meet across a sand spit — kitesurfer heaven. A serious day trip through mountain villages and empty coastline. Only attempt on a bigger scooter or a comfortable quad.

• · Fill up in Gennadi — fuel stations are sparse further south.
• · Ride back inland via Monolithos for a completely different landscape.
• · Start by 08:30 so you're not riding back in the dark.

A cool wooded ravine on the west side of the island where thousands of Jersey tiger moths gather from June to September. Wooden walkways, waterfalls, and a nature-reserve calm you don't expect on Rhodes.

• · Best visited July–August when the butterflies are at peak.
• · Keep your voice down and don't clap — the moths are protected.
• · Pair with the Kalopetra Monastery at the top of the trail.
